About Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz was Tenerife's first tourist resort, welcoming visitors since the 19th century — and it never became a concrete strip. Banana plantations reach the edge of town, the old harbour quarter keeps its Canarian balconies, and the Orotava valley rises behind towards Teide. The north is greener and a few degrees cooler, which is exactly why many visitors prefer it.
The drive from the airport
From Tenerife North it is a simple 30-minute run down the TF-5 through the Orotava valley, with Teide often filling the windscreen. From Tenerife South the motorway crosses the island via Santa Cruz — around 75 minutes of easy dual carriageway the whole way.

Which airport should we fly into for Puerto de la Cruz?
Tenerife North (TFN) is far closer — about 30 minutes instead of 75 from the south, which also means a lower transfer price. If your flight only serves TFS, we do that journey daily too.
How long does the transfer take?
The direct private drive normally takes 75 min from Tenerife South Airport. Because your transfer is private, there are no other pick-ups or hotel stops along the way.
How much does it cost?
